The Cenegenics program is based on hormone optimization, nutraceutical supplementation, exercise, and a balanced low glycemic diet.

The article below suggest exercise may lower the risk of colon cancer.

Exercise May Lower Colon Cancer Risk

A study carried out by researchers from Washington University and Harvard University showed that exercise can reduce your risk of colon cancer by 24%.

Published online in the British Journal of Cancer, the review combines exercise and colon cancer data from 52 other published studies. What isn’t known is how vigorous the exercise needs to be to reduce the risk by so much.

The colon, also referred to as the large intestine, or bowel, is about two meters long and carries waste products out of the body. Colon cancer is one of the most common cancers in people over the age of 60. Prior studies have also suggested that exercise could play a role in colon cancer prevention.

The results of all the studies show that regular exercise may reduce the risk of colon cancer by nearly a quarter; these results were the same for both men and women. However, what the results can’t tell us the level of physical activity needed to cut your risk of colon cancer. Each individual study used a different method to measure results; some say intense exercise is necessary, others say walking will suffice. What the results do tell us, though, is that any kind of exercise, whether recreational or intense, will help reduce the chance of colon cancer.

Another thing the research didn’t take into account is the other variables affecting your risk of colon cancer. For example, excessive weight or a high-meat diet both affect the colon, and increase your chance of getting colon cancer. People with healthier diets are generally at a lower risk for cancer as well. Although some of the studies may have adjusted their results to account for individual variation in diet, we can’t determine anything until each of the studies are examined.

It’s great to see that exercise helps decrease the risk of colon cancer. Exercise has always been considered a vital part of maintaining overall health, so it comes as no surprise that it plays a role in disease prevention. Combining the independent studies serves to give people a better incentive to maintain their bodies, especially those already at risk for colon cancer. Aside from exercise, there are several things to do to reduce your chances of colon cancer: eat a balanced diet, restrict your intake of processed meat, maintain a healthy weight, and participate in bowel cancer screenings.
